Kate Lynch is a writer and freelance Spanish to English translator who spent formative years living in Madrid. After a junior year abroad there and with a B.A. in Spanish and Communications from Simmons College in hand, she went back to Spain and worked for an advertising production company. Later she briefly enrolled as a student at the EICTV (Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión) in Cuba. In 2014 she received a Certificate in Translation Studies from the NYU School of Professional Studies and is using her experience in multilingual media and web, and real estate brokerage as the foundation for her translation business. She was the recipient of a Literary Translation Award at the NYU SPS 2014 Literary and Visual Arts Festival.
